I'm a treaty person and so are you
I'm not a First Nation or Aboriginal Person but I am a Treaty Person as are all Canadians. Treaties have two sides and we are all on one or the other. In the year 2000 late Elder Rufus Goodstriker told me the pre-contact legend of four races and their gifts to the world. The gift of the white race was to bring harmony to all of the others. I
laughed and said we hadn't done a very good job at which he looked at me
and said in all seriousness "You still have time." Those words have
stuck with me and this is the time for me to begin that daunting task,
and it begins with the story of Treaty and what that means for all of
us. It goes beyond the stereotypes to what it can bring to all people. ~Dennis Barnett

TEDx Organizer Extraordinaire!
|
TEDx is an open-source community of events that inspire innovation, thought leadership, and visionary insights. Each TEDx event is independently organized by extraordinary individuals. These individuals are not hosting TEDx events for political reasons, monetary reward or personal gain. Rather, they are doing this because they truly believe in the power of ideas to change the world. Thanks to Wade Graham, Lisa Power and the Organizing Committee!! What an incredible job for Canmore's first TEDx event! |
